Trek the first day from just outside of Dalat on the Pinhatt Mt. trail to Tuyen Lam Lake. The trail is moderate on the first day and walks along a jungle fringed ridgeline before descending to the campsite on the shore of the lake. The second day puts you deeper into the jungle as you trek further south. This moderate trek involves about 4 to 5 hours of hiking each day.
This two day trip starts to the South of Dalat City. We drive along picturesque scenic roads to the Pinhatt Mountain Trailhead, where we start our journey.
A few minute warm up walk leads us through forest paths to the base of Pinhatt Mt. Get ready for the steep uphill climb (45 minutes) to the summit of the mountain. The views from the top are worth the effort!
After getting some rest on the mountain top, we slowly descend. You will notice a very dramatic difference in the flora and fauna. The valley you enter is no longer pine forest, but the jungle that Vietnam is so famous for. It is a short but exciting bit of jungle that we walk through.
We will then emerge on the other side, at a campsite where you will be treated to a picnic lunch of fresh veggies and fruits, baguettes with an assortment of toppings and a French-style pastry to satisfy your sweet tooth.
A great kayaking in the afternoon is available for those who love to be on the water. And hikers are also free to swim, or just relax until dinner and camp for the night at the campsite.
On day two, there is a short boat ride from campsite to get to the trailhead. We will continue to walk the rolling hills among the vines, broad-leaf trees and enjoy the cool jungle breeze. If you’re lucky, you may see a wild orchid in bloom or a troop of monkeys.
The trail is flat through the most beautiful jungle in Dalat. A stop for lunch spot where the views of the biggest tree are fantastic.
After lunch the trail goes downhill gradually along a ridgeline and the jungle canopy starts to cool down with the nice and fresh of fern tree area. We will cross a small stream and then up to another hill for an hour to the thin jungle before coming to a clearing where the jungle ends. This flat section leads us down toward the valley below which is dotted with huge farms growing vegetables and flowers. Our vehicle will pick us up at the end of the hike and transfer us back to Dalat.
